Samuel Shocket is the president of King’s Jewelry & Loan. In 1976 Sam took over the business from his father, who established King’s in 1946. Since taking the helm at King’s, Sam has guided the company and fostered its growth to its current status of California’s largest pawnbroker. He is recognized nationally within the industry as a leader in innovation with a penchant for excellence. He has served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Collateral Loan and Second-Hand Dealers Association of California for over 10 years.
Carlos Alvarado has been with King’s since 1990. Prior to that he spent 11 years gaining expertise in the jewelry industry, including manufacturing, diamond grading, and consulting. He has extensive experience in jewelry appraisal, loans, and sales. Carlos is bilingual in Spanish and English.
Marco Barraza joined the company in 1987. Marco is a graduate gemologist with a gemology degree from the GIA in diamond grading. He has also completed coursework pertaining to human resources management, and is also bilingual in Spanish and English.
Mark Goldstein has worked for King’s since 1994. Prior to that time he was employed by a major competitor for over six years. His expertise includes estate jewelry, fine watches, and colored stones.
Blanca Gonzalez joined the King’s team in 1996. She has worked in the jewelry industry since 1978, including positions in retail jewelry sales and the sales and loan manager for a local competitor. She has also undergone training at the GIA, and plans to obtain her gemology degree in the future. Blanca is also bilingual in Spanish and English.
